Executive Director of Compliance and Operations
Jillian Thornton has over 13 year of experience in corporate compliance. Her previous experience includes serving as the Director of Compliance for a national background screening and investigation company. In this role, she oversaw the company’s Corporate Compliance Program responsible for establishing standards and policies pertaining to industry regulatory requirements to help ensure legal, ethical, and proper reporting, ensuring these standards are communicated and institutionalized across the Company. Under her leadership, Jillian built and mentored a compliance team of highly skilled and dedicated individuals. She is a strategic thinker with proven success in the development and implementation of the company’s regulatory policies, procedures and best practices.
Jillian also spent 8 years as the Director of Governance and Compliance for a national charter school management company and worked with schools in Michigan, Ohio, and Florida. In this role she worked closely with school administration, boards and sponsors to ensure timely and accurate reporting of all necessary compliance requirements. Jillian is committed to alternative education and has served as a volunteer board member on various charter school boards.
Jillian is a graduate of Hiram College where she earned her B.A in English and holds a Masters of Science in Leadership and Masters of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University.
