A Message from the CEO

As we approach this season of gratitude, I cannot help but to reflect on the remarkable strides our schools are making in various areas. Every milestone we achieve is a direct result of hardworking team members who exert 100% effort to champion achievement.

I would like to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for all you do. Every role you play produces a symphony of successes for our students and families. Our progress is a reflection of your consistent tenacity and persistence.

I am immensely grateful for each of you, and I am proud that we are working together to positively shift the lives of our students in communities throughout Ohio.

On the Front Lines

Sandy Calvert, EEG Legislative Advocate, coordinated a fundraiser in Medina County, supporting State Senator Mark Romanchuk. This event was also attended by Treasurer Robert Sprague. Treasurer Sprague visited Ohio Construction Academy in 2019 in commemoration of In-Demand Jobs Week. After touring OCA and learning about our programming, he was quoted saying, “This is also a drop-out recovery school, so these kids are not just getting a second chance at high school but at the same time learning a skill they can take directly into the workforce and immediately have a job,”

The Educational Empowerment Group (EEG) was among several sponsors who participated in this fundraiser event. As a company, we understand that doing what’s best for kids means making our voice heard, as it relates to policies which directly affect the success of our students. We believe in being on the front lines advocating for the population of students we serve. We want to make a positive imprint throughout the State of Ohio and ring the bell of justice and equality for all.

What’s Good?

Main Preparatory Academy

Main Preparatory Academy was recognized by the Buckeye Hope Foundation for achieving an impressive overall rating of 4 out of 5 stars on its school report card. The school was further honored for its exceptional progress rating. We join our sponsors in celebrating this significant achievement and look forward to even greater successes in the coming year.

The Steel Academy

The Summit County Court of Common Pleas recently hosted an art contest for local high school students, inviting them to visually convey the importance of jury duty. Students were encouraged to submit artwork that could be displayed in the court’s jury room. The Steel Academy participated in this initiative, and Steel Champion, Donoven Rucker was recognized for his

exceptional artistic talent. This community engagement opportunity not only enhanced the school’s brand and visibility, but also provided our student with a valuable real-world learning experience.

Southern Ohio Career Academy

In an exciting community event, Southern Ohio Career Academy (SOCA) hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 29. This event, made possible through a partnership with the Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce, marked a significant milestone in the school’s re-introduction to the community.

We commend Principal Ryan Dewees for fostering strong relationships with local organizations and businesses. Such partnerships are instrumental in highlighting the transformative power of education and the positive impact schools can have on students’ lives. Look out Chillicothe; SOCA is on the move!

Bridge Gate Elementary School

Bridge Gate Elementary School is turning the classroom into a real-world learning experience by mirroring the national election process. Students in grades 4-6 are actively engaged in their own school government elections, delivering persuasive speeches to garner votes for various offices. This hands-on approach not only teaches students about the political process, but also hones their public speaking and interpersonal skills, preparing them for future success.
