A Message from the CEO

As the first quarter of the school year draws to a close, I am pleased to report the successful openings of all schools. I commend our staff for their dedication and hard work in implementing the programs and strategies covered during summer professional development.

I encourage all staff to remain steadfast in their commitment to fostering academic growth, positive behavior and social emotional learning. By consistently implementing evidence-based practices like Emulation, the House System, EEI, and others, we can achieve both operational and academic success.

The EEG team is here to support and collaborate with you in achieving your goals. We believe in your ability to make a positive impact on our schools and communities. Let’s continue our journey together toward excellence. I appreciate all you do!

What’s Good?

CASTLE High School – East Campus

CASTLE High School – East Campus is buzzing with excitement as students achieve remarkable milestones. Every other week, the school hosts college representatives to inspire students and provide valuable information about higher education opportunities.

Recently, CASTLE East student, Anylah Green, received a significant boost toward her college aspirations. Central State University not only awarded her a $2,000 scholarship, but also accepted her into the college on the same day. This dual achievement is a testament to Anylah’s hard work and dedication.

In addition to academic triumphs, CASTLE East is showcasing the artistic talents of its students. Their artwork will soon be on display at the local arena, and the school is actively planning a community showcase to highlight the creativity and skill of its young artists.

Middlebury Academy

Middlebury Academy kicked off House Sorting for this year’s House System implementation. A Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) designed to foster a positive and collaborative learning environment, The House System assigns students to different houses, each with its own unique identity and values.

The House Sorting ceremony was a memorable event, marking the official launch of this exciting initiative. Through mentorship from teachers, the House System will promote accountability, responsibility, and teamwork among students. This innovative approach not only reinforces positive behaviors, but also adds a fun and engaging element to the school day.

The Steel Academy

Steel Academy is thrilled to announce a partnership with the Great Lakes Theater School Residency Program. This past week, students had the unique opportunity to engage with professional actors and explore classic literature in a dynamic and interactive way.

Founded in 1981, Great Lakes Theater’s in-school residency program is renowned for its innovative approach to teaching. Over 15,000 students in nearly 100 schools across the country have benefited from this program, which brings the power and relevance of classic literature to life within the classroom.

For five consecutive days, specially trained actor-teachers visted Steel Academy, leading five classes per day. Using a hands-on approach, the actors introduced students to scripts, props, costumes, and even stage combat elements to provide a truly immersive experience. Students explored classic literature from an actor’s perspective, gaining a deeper appreciation for the power of storytelling.

Bridge Gate Community School

Bridge Gate Academy is making a positive impact on the local community through its holistic approach to education. The school continues to offer a community market, providing free food to neighborhood residents and supporting the well-being of students and families.

By providing essential resources, Bridge Gate Academy is demonstrating its commitment to not only academic excellence, but also the overall health and prosperity of its community. The dedication and compassion of the school staff are commendable, as they strive to make a difference beyond the classroom walls.

Leadership Summit

The EEG team and school leaders recently participated in a valuable training session on servant leadership. Facilitated by Jason Barger, this training equipped leaders with the tools and knowledge to better support each other and the schools they serve.

Through collaborative discussions and shared experiences, participants were able to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address the unique needs of their schools. The training fostered a stronger sense of unity and collaboration among the EEG team and school leaders which will ultimately benefit students and staff.
